Apartheid Laws
The Separate Amenities Act of 1953 legalized all inequalities betweens blacks and whites, such as transportation, facilities, parks, and many others. It was created to eliminate all contact between blacks and other races. The white areas were always better and of a higher quality. In the medical facilities blacks had longer lines and never had a guarantee of actually seeing a doctor. When non-whites didn’t abide by the rules they could be forcibly removed or even arrested.  The Native Law Amendment revised this law. It added that the police and the government had the power to ban blacks from clubs, churches, hospitals and other organizations. Children who had played together all of their lives were now forced to go their separate ways just because of the color of their skin.
